GDP could rise 5% in 2021 if manufacturing weathers COVID surge

Taipei, May 18 (CNA) Taiwan's gross domestic product (GDP) could still hit 5 percent in 2021 as long as production in the local manufacturing sector remains largely unscathed by surging domestically transmitted COVID-19 cases, National Development Council Minister Kung Ming-hsin (龔明鑫) said Tuesday.
