Taipei, Dec. 25 (CNA) China Airlines (CAL), one of Taiwan's leading airlines, said Monday that it was named "Best Airline in North Asia" for the fifth year in a row in a survey by travel magazine Global Traveler earlier this month.
The airline has embraced constant innovation in aviation technology, safety, convenience, comfort and entertainment, according to the survey, which is now in its 14th year.
Also winning the "Best Business-Class Seat Design" award for the third consecutive year, the carrier could be especially appealing to business travelers, the magazine said.
"If you have not flown China Airlines' business class ... I suggest you try it," said Francis. X. Gallagher, publisher and CEO of Global Traveler.
The airline said it is working to expand its global network, including the introduction in December of a direct Taipei-London route, increasing flights on the Taipei-Sydney route from one to two a day and one flight a day on the Taipei-Brisbane-Auckland route.
The airline will also launch non-stop flights between Taipei and Ontario, California in the spring of 2018.
The magazine, whose readers are mainly well traveled entrepreneurs and executives, selects the top representatives in 80 travel-related industry categories in its survey.
