TSMC Q3 net profit hits new high (update)

Taiwan Semiconductor Manufacturing Co. (TSMC, 台積電), the world's largest contract chip maker, reported a new company high in net profit for the third quarter of this year Thursday, on the back of solid demand for communication, computer and consumer/industrial electronic devices.
