President Tsai Ing-wen (蔡英文) and Taiwan's defense authorities have expressed gratitude to the United States after U.S. President Donald Trump signed the national defense authorization for fiscal 2019 Monday, which includes provisions supporting the strengthening of Taiwan's armed forces.
