Premier-designate announces his deputy

Taipei, April 7 (CNA) Premier-designate Lin Chuan (林全) said Lin Hsi-yao (林錫耀), a former minister without portfolio, will be his deputy in the Executive Yuan in a press conference on Thursday.

Lin Hsi-yao, who holds a bachelor degree in civil engineering and a master's in environmental engineering both at National Taiwan University, served as vice magistrate and acting magistrate of Taipei County (now New Taipei City) from 1999 to 2004 and from 2004-2005, respectively, and minister without portfolio from 2006-2008.

The premier-designate also said Lin Tsou-yen (林奏延), a former vice minister of health, will be his minister of health and welfare, and is expected to attend this year's annual meeting of the World Health Assembly in late May.

He also announced that Tung Chen-yuan (童振源), an international affairs expert and professor at National Chengchi University, will be his cabinet spokesman.
