Rare rhino to head to Japan

Taiwan's Leofoo Theme Park zoo is preparing to send a five-year-old white rhino to Japan in April under a breeding project to improve diversity of the gene pool of the species. The zoo in Hsinchu County, in northern Taiwan, has become one of the leading institutions for the conservation of white rhinos in Asia, having built a herd of 23 rhinos from just eight four decades ago.
