A bookstore for 'free souls'

Causeway Bay Books, a bookstore originally based in Hong Kong selling books critical of Beijing and the Chinese political leadership reopened in Taiwan on April 25, 20 months after it was closed due to political persecution. The newly reopened bookstore is situated on the 10th floor of a commercial building near Taipei's MRT Zhongshan Station. Its owner Lam Wing-kee was detained in China for more than 400 days, as the Beijing authorities tried to find out from him and other arrested booksellers and owners about the people who bought the books. He fled to Taiwan last year and managed to reopen the bookstore with support from donors.
