Philippines opens largest OFW service center in Taipei

The Philippines opened its largest overseas Filipino worker (OFW) service center in Taipei on Sunday, offering migrant workers in Taiwan easier access to government services, welfare assistance and training. Operated by the Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA), the OFW Global Center–Taipei is located in the same building as the Manila Economic and Cultural Office (MECO), the Philippines' de facto embassy in Taiwan in the absence of formal diplomatic ties. The center also features a café and karaoke room where workers can socialize, while the OWWA hopes to establish two more centers in Taichung and Kaohsiung within the next two years.
