Taipei, April 14 (CNA) Taiwanese artistic gymnast Tang Chia-hung (唐嘉鴻) concluded his competition at the World Cup Osijek on Sunday with a sixth-place finish in the final of the horizontal bar.

Tang, who topped all 30 competitors in Friday's qualification round with a score of 14.933, finished with 13.266 points in the final, after falling during an attempt at a routine with a difficulty rating of 6.3.

In the qualification round, he had performed a routine with the highest difficulty rating of 5.9, gaining an execution score of 8.933 and a 0.1-point bonus on dismount.

Due to the missed catch in Sunday's final, however, Tang finished with a score of 13.266, gaining 7.166 for execution, in a 6.1 difficulty rating.

The gold medal went to Milad Karimi of Kazakhstan, who scored 14.666 points.

Speaking with CNA after the competition, Tang, who won a high bar bronze medal at the 2024 Paris Olympics, said he had done better with the routine during practice.

"I actually did that move well in recent practice, so I didn't see that [fall] coming," he said. "It's fine anyway. I believe I'll find my groove soon once I better master some key skills."

Tang will fly to Doha for the next competition in the World Cup series, which is scheduled to be held Wednesday to Saturday.
