Taipei, July 24 (CNA) The Ministry of Finance (MOF) on Thursday encouraged the owners of four invoice receipts which won the NT$10 million (US$304,000) special prize in Taiwan's March-April uniform invoice lottery to collect their winnings.

According to the MOF, the four receipts include a NT$260 digital purchase on the Apple App Store, a NT$300 cigarette buy in an Ok Mart on Sanmin Street in New Taipei's Sanzhi District, NT$270 spent at a MOS Burger on Sanmin West Road in Taichung's South District, as well as a NT$39 beverage purchase from a Hi-Life on Jinlong Road in Kaohsiung's Dashe District.

Other than the four receipts for NT$10 million in unclaimed winnings, the MOF also revealed that two grand prize-winning invoice receipts, each worth NT$2 million, have not been claimed.

The ministry said the NT$2 million-winning receipts came from a NT$45 beverage purchase at a Hi-Life on Daguan Road in Taoyuan's Dayuan District and from another beverage buy in one of the city's 7-Elevens on Zhongzheng Road in Zhongli District which cost NT$75.

The MOF reminded the public that all six receipts can be used to claim winnings until Sept. 5, adding that the winning numbers of this year's May-June receipts will be announced on Friday.

To collect a prize, Taiwanese citizens must present their National Identification Card and the winning receipt, MOF had said.

Non-citizens are also eligible to win the cash prizes as long as they present their passport, Alien Resident Certificate or Entry & Exit Permit issued by the National Immigration Agency, according to the ministry.

The uniform invoice lottery, drawn every two months, was created in the early 1950s to encourage consumers to ask for a receipt when making a purchase so as to boost tax revenue.
