Taipei, June 23 (CNA) A 30-year-old Indonesian migrant worker died Monday after being crushed by an iron pipe while working in a factory in an industrial zone in Chiayi County.
The county's Fire Bureau told CNA that they received a report around 1:20 p.m. about an occupational incident at a factory in the Minsyong Industrial Park, where a worker was said to be pinned under an iron pipe.
Rescue personnel found the worker in a state of out-of-hospital cardiac arrest after arriving at the site.
He was given emergency treatment on-site and then taken to Chiayi Christian Hospital for further resuscitation, but was later pronounced dead.
The cause of the accident is under investigation.
