Taipei, June 17 (CNA) Taiwan will phase out paper arrival cards from Oct. 1, after which all foreign travelers will be required to submit the information online, the National Immigration Agency (NIA) said Tuesday.
Travelers will need to access the Taiwan Arrival Card (TWAC) website and complete the form in either English or traditional Chinese, NIA Chief Secretary Lin Tse-chien (林澤謙) said.
Instructions on how to complete the form are also available in Japanese, Korean, Thai, Vietnamese, and Indonesian, Lin added.
Travelers are advised to submit their TWAC at least three days before coming to Taiwan, but can also do it at the airport, where free wi-fi is available, according to the NIA.
For families or tour groups, one person may fill out the form on behalf of up to 16 individuals, Lin said.
Those without access to an internet-connected device can also ask NIA staff at airports and seaports for help filling out the TWAC upon arriving in Taiwan, the agency added.
