Taipei, April 9 (CNA) A magnitude 5.8 earthquake struck northeastern Taiwan's Yilan County at 9:53 a.m. Wednesday, according to the Central Weather Administration (CWA).

The epicenter of the temblor was located in Su'ao Township in Yilan County, about 15.5 kilometers south-southeast of Yilan County Hall, at a depth of 72.4 km, according to the CWA.
