
Taipei, May 19 (CNA) At least three pedestrians have died and over a dozen people have been injured after a vehicle crashed into a group of pedestrians in New Taipei's Sanxia District on Monday.
The incident happened at around 4 p.m. when a car suddenly rammed into pedestrians at an intersection near Bei Da Elementary School, resulting in three people dead and 13 others injured, including the driver, according to the New Taipei Education Department.

Of the three people who died, two were female students in their teens and the other was a woman in her 40s, according to local police and fire officials.
Law enforcement authorities are investigating the crash, but have yet to provide any theories on what happened.
