Taiwan looks for Japanese support for CPTPP bid: president

President Tsai Ing-wen (蔡英文) said Tuesday that the government looks forward to strengthening ties with Japan and that it hopes it can support Taiwan's efforts to take part in a second round of negotiations for the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP).
