Chinese official bashes U.S. at cross-strait media gathering

In a message the government-controlled Chinese media has played down, a top Beijing official has warned Taiwan that the United States will not be able to preserve Taiwan's security and that time is on China's side in cross-Taiwan Strait affairs.
