Taipei, Aug. 6 (CNA) Taiwan-based manufacturing giant Hon Hai Precision Industry Co. (Foxconn) on Tuesday reported its highest ever sales for July as the company benefited from strong demand for artificial intelligence servers.
In a statement, the iPhone assembler and AI server supplier said it posted consolidated sales of NT$613.87 billion (US$20.50 billion) in July, up 7.25 percent from a year earlier and up 13.63 percent from a month earlier.
Due to solid demand for AI and cloud services, the company's cloud and networking division saw "strong" year-on-year growth in sales in July, while revenue generated from its computing division stayed little changed from a year earlier, the statement said.
Sales in its electronics component and smart consumer electronics divisions fell from a year earlier in July due to the impact of a stronger Taiwan dollar, the company said.
On a month-on-month basis, Hon Hai said it enjoyed "strong" sales growth in its smart consumer electronics and computing divisions and "significant" growth in its electronics component division.
But the strength of the Taiwan dollar left sales by the cloud and networking division relatively flat despite solid demand for AI-related gadgets, the company said, without any further explanation.
In the first seven months of this year, Hon Hai's consolidated sales rose 17.62 percent from a year earlier to NT$4.05 trillion, the statement said.
Hon Hai will hold an investor conference on Aug. 14 to detail its second quarter results and give guidance for the third quarter.
Meanwhile, Largan Precision Co., a supplier of smartphone camera lenses to Apple Inc., posted a monthly high for sales in 2025 in July with consolidated sales of NT$5.41 billion, up 31 percent from a month earlier but down 0.1 percent from a year earlier.
Largan said the sales growth came from its clients' efforts to launch new products.
In July, Largan said, its 20 mega-pixel and higher lenses -- which have higher profit margins -- accounted for 10-20 percent of total sales, while 10-20 mega-pixel lenses making up 60-70 percent, 8 mega-pixel lenses representing less than 10 percent, and other products making up 10-20 percent.
In the first seven months of this year, Largan's consolidated sales rose 14 percent from a year earlier to NT$31.67 billion.
