Taiwan seeking to join rival trade bloc to counter RCEP: economics minister

Taiwan will continue its efforts to join a free trade agreement involving Japan and 10 other countries in the Asia Pacific region, to cushion the impact of a mammoth regional trade block that was formed Sunday by 15 Asia-Pacific nations, Minister of Economic Affairs Wang Mei-hua (王美花) said.
