Shares of HTC rise on optimism over new model sales

Shares of Taiwan-based smartphone vendor HTC Corp. moved sharply higher Tuesday morning on optimism over initial preorder sales of its newly unveiled middle-end model -- the Desire 816 -- in China, dealers said.
