The Chung-Hua Institution for Economic Research (CIER), one of Taiwan's leading think tanks, joined its local counterparts Thursday to downgrade its forecast of Taiwan's gross domestic product (GDP) growth this year to below 2 percent, citing slower exports and weakening consumption.
