While many watched U.S. climber Alex Honnold successfully scale Taipei 101 live on Netflix on Sunday, large crowds gathered at street level around the 508-meter skyscraper as the 40-year-old made his ascent. CNA captured footage of Honnold from ground level as the “Free Solo” icon made history with his 91-minute, 30-second rope-free climb.
