Foehn winds forecast for southeastern Taiwan

Afternoon thunderstorms could ease off across Taiwan Friday due to a strengthening Pacific high pressure system, while southeastern parts of the country might experience Foehn winds -- hot and dry gusts that can send the mercury soaring, according to the Central Weather Bureau.
