Taipei, March 28 (CNA) Justice Minister Luo Ying-shay (羅瑩雪) embarked Monday on a historic five-day visit to China, where she is expected to speak at a college of law, among other activities.

Luo, who is leading a delegation of senior officials from her ministry, is the first justice minister from Taiwan to visit China in an official capacity.

She was invited by the Supreme People's Procuratorate of the People's Republic of China, based on a cross-Taiwan Strait agreement on joint crime-fighting and mutual judicial assistance.

During her visit to Beijing and Shanghai, Luo is expected to call on China's judicial agencies, deliver a speech at the National Prosecutors College of P.R.C and hold talks with Taiwanese businessmen based in China.
