DPP candidate expects cross-strait communication after election

Tsai Ing-wen (蔡英文), chairwoman and presidential candidate of the opposition Democratic Progressive Party (DPP), said Friday that it will be necessary for the new government next year to have a certain degree of communication with China so as to avoid a gap between the outgoing and incoming administrations in dealing with cross-Taiwan Strait relations.
