NSC Secretary-General King Pu-tsung stepping down

Taipei, Feb. 6 (CNA) The Presidential Office announced Friday that it has approved the resignation of National Security Council (NSC) Secretary-General King Pu-tsung (金溥聰).

King tendered his resignation based on health and family considerations, the office said, in the announcement that named former National Defense Minister Kao Hua-chu (高華柱) as his replacement.

Presidential Office Secretary-General Timothy Yang (楊進添), a former foreign minister, has also resigned from his post, saying that he has served his immediate purpose. His post is set to be filled by former Legislative Yuan Vice Speaker Tseng Yung-chuan (曾永權).

The handover of the positions will be held on Feb. 12.
