Taiwan not seeking U.S. support for submarine overhaul: lawmaker

Taiwan has not requested assistance from the United States to overhaul its two aging U.S.-built Guppy-class submarines and will carry out the project on its own, a ruling Kuomintang (KMT) lawmaker said Sunday.
