President condemns influence peddling by legislative speaker (update)

President Ma Ying-jeou issued a strongly-worded statement Sunday, condemning Legislative Speaker Wang Jin-pyng's alleged interference in a legal case and calling it "the most serious infringement" of the independence of Taiwan's judiciary.
