Taipei, Nov. 11 (CNA) Terry Gou, chairman of Taiwan's Hon Hai Precision Industry Co., a major supplier of Apple Inc.'s iPhones and iPads, said he was thrilled by the birth of his fifth child, which came into the world at Taipei's MacKay Memorial Hospital on Tuesday.

The baby girl is Gou's third child with Delia Tseng, who married the billionaire in 2008. They had a daughter in 2009 and a son in 2010. Tseng was also celebrating her 40th birthday on Tuesday.

"It's wonderful to have a new life. I'm thankful to God for giving a precious treasure to our family again," the 64-year-old Gou wrote in a handwritten statement that was sent to the media via e-mail.

Gou and his first wife, Serena Lin, had a son who works in the film industry and a daughter who works in the financial sector. Lin died of breast cancer in 2005 at the age of 55.

Hon Hai, also known as the Foxconn Technology Group, is the world's largest contract electronics maker. The company employs more than 1 million workers in China and has production sites in over 10 countries.

Gou was ranked 239th on Forbes magazine's 2013 list of the world's richest people, with a net worth of US$5.1 billion.
