Asian Baseball Championship to be held in Taichung

Taipei, Aug. 13 (CNA) The 2015 Asian Baseball Championship will be held Sept. 16-20 in Taichung, central Taiwan, according to the Chinese Taipei Baseball Association (CPBA).

A total of six countries, including defending champion Japan, South Korea, China, Indonesia, Pakistan, and host country, Taiwan, have confirmed their participation in the tournament.

The championship will run on a round-robin basis and the best team will be bestowed with the title of the tournament.

If there are three teams tied at the top of the tournament standings, the team with the highest Team's Quality Balance (TQB) in the head-to-head games played will win the championship.

Taiwan and South Korea will play the opening game of the tournament to be held at Taichung's Intercontinental Baseball Stadium.
