Taipei, July 29 (CNA) Weng Tiehui (翁鐵慧), vice mayor of Shanghai, arrived in Taipei on Wednesday on a goodwill visit, following a trip to Shanghai in May by Deputy Taipei Mayor Chou Li-fang (周麗芳).

Weng's visit is aimed mainly at promoting exchanges and sharing experience between the two cities on construction projects, according to Taipei City government spokesman Lin Ho-ming (林鶴明).

During her stay in Taipei, Weng will visit senior citizens' study centers, the Taipei metro system and other transportation projects, Lin said. Weng is also scheduled to meet with Taipei Mayor Ko Wen-je on Thursday, the spokesman said.

Lin said the annual twin-city forum between Taipei and Shanghai is expected to be held in summer this year, and officials of the two cities have been making the relevant arrangements.
