Taiwan’s 1st Formosat-8 satellite successfully launches into space

Formosat-8, Taiwan’s first domestically developed optical remote-sensing satellite constellation, was successfully launched on a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket from Vandenberg Space Force Base in California early Saturday morning at 2:44 a.m. (Taipei time). Code-named FS-8A, it is the first of eight satellites that will form Taiwan’s first homegrown satellite constellation.
