OLYMPICS/Taiwan mixed table tennis duo fail to make Tokyo finals
Taipei, July 25 (CNA) Taiwanese table tennis players Lin Yun-ju (林昀儒) and Cheng I-ching (鄭怡靜) failed to advance to the finals of the table tennis mixed doubles at the Tokyo Olympics after being defeated by their Japanese opponents Sunday night.
The Taiwanese duo, ranked world No. 1, were defeated by world ranked No. 2 pairing Mima Ito and Jun Mizutani 11-9, 6-11, 11-9, 11-6 in a match that lasted 48 minutes.
Lin and Cheng will compete for the bronze medal on Monday.
