Taipei, June 3 (CNA) The weather across Taiwan will be "unstable" Tuesday, changing throughout the day, the Central Weather Administration (CWA) has predicted, and those conditions will continue into Wednesday.
Due to a lingering weather front, there will be chances of sporadic showers across the island Tuesday, with localized heavy rain possible in western Taiwan and Hualien County in the east, the CWA said.
Mountainous regions may also see heavy rain in the afternoon.
According to independent meteorologist Wu Der-rong (吳德榮), such weather will continue into Wednesday, with thunder, strong winds and flash heavy rains likely.
There are also chances of sporadic rain and thundershowers on Thursday, with the rain becoming heavier into the afternoon as the weather front starts moving southward, Wu said.
From Friday to Sunday, afternoon showers and thundershowers are forecast across the island, while southern Taiwan may start seeing localized rain in the morning, Wu said.
The rain will bring down daytime highs on Tuesday and Wednesday to about 29 to 31 degrees Celsius across most of Taiwan, according to CWA data.
Daytime highs will further drop to 26 degrees in northern Taiwan on Wednesday, CWA data showed.
The mercury is expected to rebound Thursday, with highs returning to 30 degrees in the north, according to the CWA.
