Taoyuan, Jan. 25 (CNA) Taoyuan International Airport has arranged several Lunar New Year holiday activities for the more than 1,400 foreign migrant workers involved in its third terminal project to make them feel less homesick during the break, the airport said.

The workers, mostly from Vietnam and Thailand, will be off from Jan. 25 to Feb. 2, and to give them a more festive holiday atmosphere, the project contractor has planned various activities and special meals for workers who stay in their dormitories, the airport said.

For example, karaoke, music performances, and contests such as arm wrestling and sepak takraw were planned while special meals made of seafood, beef, desserts and fresh seasonal fruits will be served during the holiday, the airport said.

The activities and special meals resulted in about 80 percent of the Vietnamese and 90 percent of the Thais working on the project staying in their dormitories over the Lunar New Year holiday last year, according to the airport.
