Taiwan sets single-day record for domestic COVID-19 cases as virus spreads

Taiwan on Friday confirmed 29 new domestic cases of COVID-19, its highest number of locally transmitted infections in a single day since the outbreak began early last year, as authorities continued to grapple with a string of cluster infections in northern Taiwan.
