Indie music contest to be canceled this summer due to COVID-19
New Taipei, Feb. 22 (CNA) A music contest that is held as part of the annual Ho-Hai-Yan Gongliao Rock Festival in New Taipei every summer will be canceled this year due to COVID-19 prevention efforts, the city government announced Monday.
In view of the risk posed by the coronavirus, the 2021 Ho-Hai-Yan Indie Music Awards competition will not be held, the city said in a statement.
As for the rock festival itself, the date has not yet been finalized as it will depend largely on the COVID-19 situation at that time, the statement said.
The Ho-Hai-Yan Gongliao Rock Festival is an annual music festival held on Fulong Beach, located in New Taipei's Gongliao District.
Held since 2000, the festival is famous for the indie music contest and the nonstop performances of commercial bands.
