Temperature highs are expected to hit 30 degrees Celsius Monday as a warm easterly wind system gains strength, according to the Central Weather Bureau (CWB). Taiwan is expected to experience a so-called "Indian Summer" weather pattern this week, which points to a spell of hot weather even though Autumn is already here, the bureau said. Daytime temperatures are expected to range from 28-29 degrees in northern Taiwan and rise to 30 degrees in central and southern parts of the country Monday, the CWB said. The mercury is likely to rise further for the rest of the week and hit 31 degrees on the back of stronger warm winds, the bureau added. However, the CWB warned of a large day-night temperature differential, in particular in central and southern Taiwan.
