Presidential Office updates lists of senior, policy advisers

Taipei, June 16 (CNA) The Presidential Office has updated its lists of senior advisers and national policy advisers to President Lai Ching-te (賴清德), adding six new names to the former and 12 to the latter.

The newly appointed senior advisers include Tom Su (蘇春槐), chairman of the New York Taiwan Center and father of AMD Chair and CEO Lisa Su (蘇姿丰); Lin Hong-dow (林鴻道), who recently announced he would step down as chairman of the Taiwan Sports Training Center; Wu Yung-tung (吳運東), a former ambassador-at-large; and Wu Shu-min (吳樹民), chairman of the Foundation of Medical Professionals Alliance in Taiwan.

Writer Huang Yue-sui (黃越綏) and Fan Chen-hsiu (范振修), both previously national policy advisers to the president, were also appointed senior advisers.

Among the 12 newly appointed national policy advisers are forensic expert Kao Ta-cheng (高大成), Lih Pao Group Chairman Wu Pao-tien (吳寶田), Republic of China Sports Federation President Yeh Cheng-yen (葉政彥) and World Taiwanese Chambers of Commerce President Kenneth Wu (吳光宜).

According to the Presidential Office website, the updated lists include 29 senior advisers and 71 national policy advisers.

Under the Organization Act of the Office of the President, up to 30 senior advisers and 90 national policy advisers may be appointed. The positions are unpaid, and their terms may not exceed that of the president.

The previous advisers' terms expired on May 19.
