Former Republic of China (Taiwan) President MaYing-jeou (馬英九) departed for a trip to the United States on Sunday,where he plans to deliver a speech at New York University, meet withscholars from two Washington-based think tanks and attend a banquethosted by Taiwanese representative to the U.S. Hsiao Bi-khim (蕭美琴),Ma's office said in a press release.
