Taipei, June 9 (CNA) The Air Force Command Headquarters said on Wednesday six of its personnel tested positive for COVID-19 recently and were placed in isolation for treatment.

In a statement, the Air Force said after falling ill the six took polymerase chain reaction (PCR) tests which came back positive.

The Air Force said it has reported the six cases to the health authorities in the municipalities where the six individuals were based.

However, no details were provided as to the symptoms the patients developed, when they fell ill, their rank or where they were stationed.

Following the guidance of the central and local health authorities, the Air Force said it has traced the close contacts of the six personnel for PCR tests and disinfected the quarters in which they stayed and worked in an effort to prevent the virus spreading further.

The Air Force said it will closely follow guidance from the health authorities that suggests personnel should stay in separate spaces, work in small groups and at staggered hours, to ensure they stay healthy and are able to continue their work to protect the country.
