Hot sunny day in Taitung

According to the Central Weather Administration, the Taiwan Forestry Research Institute's research center in Taitung's Taimali Township recorded the highest temperature on Friday -- 38.9 degrees Celsius -- due to a Foehn wind, a warm and dry wind that descends the leeward slopes of a mountain.
