A section of the Gaoping River on the border between Kaohsiung's Dashu District and Pingtung County is running dry in this photo taken on Wednesday. Taiwan Water Corp. announced that water supplied to swimming pools, car washes, saunas, spas and some industrial customers in Kaohsiung will be reduced by up to 20 percent from March 30 due to the worsening drought.
