2024 Golden Horse Awards

Taipei, Nov. 23 (CNA) The 61st Golden Horse Awards ceremony will kick off at the Taipei Music Center at 7 p.m. on Saturday, celebrating achievements by filmmakers and the movie industry in the Chinese-speaking world.

The awards ceremony will be hosted by Liu Kuan-ting (劉冠廷), who won Golden Horse Awards for Best Supporting Actor in 2019 for “A Sun” (陽光普照) and in 2021 for Treat or Trick (詭扯).

Hong Kong film veteran Patrick Tam (譚家明) chaired the jury this year. He is one of the prominent figures in the Hong Kong New Wave, a film movement that emerged in the late 1970s and lasted through the early 2000s, with notable works including “The Sword,” (名劍) which he directed.

Awards for 23 categories will be handed out this year.

Taiwanese horror comedy "Dead Talents Society" (鬼才之道) led the nominations for the 61st Golden Horse Awards with 11 nods, including for Best Narrative Feature Film.

In Taiwan, Taiwan Television Enterprise (TTV) is broadcasting the red carpet event and the awards ceremony, which will also be streamed live online by My Video and Line Today.

In Singapore, people can watch through StarHub, while viewers in Malaysia and Brunei can use their local Astro services, according to the organizers.

Outside the four countries, TTV and the Taipei Golden Horse Film Festival (TGHFF) will stream live on their respective YouTube channels from 5:30 p.m.
