Taipei, Dec. 8 (CNA) Renowned Taiwanese album cover designer Xiao Qing-yang (蕭青陽) has been nominated for the fifth time for the Grammy Awards, according to the list of nominees for the 2019 Grammy Awards announced Friday.

Xiao was shortlisted in the Best Recording Package category of the 61st Grammy Awards for "The Offering," the 12th album released by the Taiwanese rock band The Chairman, which won the 29th Golden Melody Award (GMA) for the Best Band in June.

In designing the album cover, Xiao said, he used the techniques of white ink screen printing and golden powder painting to illustrate a scene of worshipping with traditional images, such as paper money, red strings, and Taiwanese temples.

Xiao was a Grammy Award nominee in the category of the Best Recording Package and the Best Boxed or Special Limited Edition Package.

He was first nominated for the 2004 Grammy Awards with the design of "The Wandering Accordion."
