Taiwan recorded a slight year-on-year increase in car sales in April but some dealers of Japanese brands saw a decline, market statistics showed Saturday. The data indicated that 34,953 cars were sold in Taiwan in April, up 0.8 percent from a year earlier. However, Hotai Motor Co. (和泰車), the local sales agent for Japan's Toyota Motor, suffered a 3.6 percent year-on-year decline in sales, while Honda Taiwan recorded a 10.2 percent decrease.
