On July 4, 2005, Time magazine published a report titled "How to Revive a Fading Brand" about efforts by Taiwan's Acer Inc. to transform itself under the leadership of J.T. Wang. The company further made international headlines in August 2007 after it acquired America's fourth-largest personal computer maker, Gateway, for US$710 million.
