Taiwan records first case of imported XDR typhoid fever

Taiwan reported its first imported case of extensively drug-resistant (XDR) typhoid fever, diagnosed in a patient who recently returned from a visit to Pakistan, the Centers for Disease Control (CDC) said Tuesday.
