Taiwan's main political parties take issue with Xi's remarks

The two major political parties in Taiwan responded negatively Wednesday to a speech by Chinese President Xi Jinping (習近平) earlier in the day, saying Beijing should recognize Taiwan's existence and abandon its "one country, two systems" unification scheme.
