Taipei, Jan. 29 (CNA) National Development Council head Kuan Chung-ming (管中閔) has resigned, the Cabinet confirmed Thursday night, and the vacancy left by him will be filled by Minister without Portfolio Duh Tyzz-jiun (杜紫軍).

The Cabinet's statement said Premier Mao Chi-kuo (毛治國) accepted Kuan's resignation reluctantly but has chosen a replacement in Duh, who was appointed a minister without portfolio Dec. 3 after quitting his post as economics minister.
