Taipei, Dec. 8 (CNA) Premier Mao Chi-kuo and members of his Cabinet were sworn in Monday and officials said that one of the first things Mao will do is to call on Legislative Yuan President Wang Jin-pyng to seek support on the administration's budget for the next fiscal year.

Mao officially took over from departing Premier Jiang Yi-huah after a swearing-in ceremony at the Presidential Office in the morning. Jiang resigned on Nov. 29, after the ruling Kuomintang suffered heavy losses in local government elections.

The new premier, who was the vice premier until now, will then hold talks with Wang at the Legislative Yuan on the fiscal year 2015 budget plan, which should come into force on Jan. 1.

He will also call a special Cabinet meeting in the afternoon.
